Topstone Carbon

¨More give. More go. An unprecedented gravel bike with real suspension. It’s the most off-road capable and on-road comfortable road bike ever made.¨

That`s what Cannondale claim, here what we think…

We absolutely loved the aluminium Topstone, because Cannondale is well known for theirs great aluminium, well spec´d, nicely riding for a good price point. So now with carbon frame and the kingpin suspension it gets interesting.

Refined geometry and rider position deliver an experience that’s stable, composed and comfortable without losing that spark. But as things get more technical or very rough, the small tire volume and the high centre of gravity become the Cannondale’s worst enemy. However, at high speed and fast corners it feels really confident.

The Cannondale´s engineers   worked four years on the frame and the Kingpin suspension to try to create the most comfortable gravel bike out there.

It seems like a lot of efforts to get 30mm of passive suspension on a all-road bike. When in our opinion a 650b on 47c tire or a 700x45c will offer the same confident and comfort without all the troubles in the making.

All the power you need to stop your bike and  the Mavic´s quick-realise/thru-axle, pull it out slightly and remove it straight down via these notches in the dropouts and axle. Shimano have added his servo wave technology from the mtb to road brakes.
